On 8 December 2021, at about 08h00 three suspects were nabbed for dealing in drugs, two Swaziland nationals and one South African national. The trio was stopped along Highveld road in Kempton Park, transporting fourteen (14) x bags of dagga.
The dagga consignment with an estimated street value of R70 000.00, weighed at 64.5 kg was discovered when the STT members stopped and searched a vehicle, a white Nissan NP 300, used to transport the drugs from Swaziland into South Africa. The discovery was made following a tipoff of the intended destination and route plan, as they were passing by the Aerotropolis City they were caught and arrested before they could reach their final destination.
The Municipal Commissioner, Chief Isaac Jabulani Mapiyeye, commended the outstanding work and attentiveness of the officers and he further reminded criminals that the city is no place for criminality.
“The City of Ekurhuleni is a city of peace, and there is no place for the operation of criminals and their criminalities. We want peace in this City and criminals you will be stopped in your tracks by our officers, be warned. He said”.
