The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms and strong winds in KwaZulu-Natal.
The warning is valid for Tuesday, 25 September.
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN KWAZULU-NATAL
The weather service said severe thunderstorms are expected over the western parts and midlands of the province on Tuesday afternoon which may lead to strong damaging winds.
“Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected over KZN on Tuesday, but isolated in the north east. Development of severe thunderstorms is possible over the western and midlands leading to strong damaging winds,” SAWS said.

As previously reported by The South African, the weather service said a strong cut-off low pressure system that developed on 23 September will cause dangerous weather conditions in parts of the country mainly from Sunday, 24 September.
Severe thunderstorms, strong damaging winds and waves, as well as disruptive rainfall in excess of 100mm is expected in parts of the country as several orange impact-based warnings have been issued.
Residents have been urged to avoid travelling and to practice caution as adverse weather conditions have already wreaked havoc and caused significant damage in parts of the country.
