Covid-19 pandemic is a global blanket, even though some countries are not under strain like other countries, they are still taking measures to flatten the curve of this virus. Countries like Zimbabwe has the lowest infections than South Africa.
South Africa has passed 1 million mark of these infections of Covid-19. Zimbabwe is currently standing over 14 000 cases of Covid-19 and over 360 deaths related of this infection. Though the numbers are low, the Zimbabwean government is taking precautions of this infection in to consideration much more carefully.
Zimbabwean government says the countries health system is very much under pressure and it doesn’t want to collapse. The other thing is that have postponed the re-opening of schools to later date, this can happen later in January 2021.
Sad news for Zimbabweans, they are placed in full lockdown after the surge of Covid-19 is taking the country by storm. This are sad news for them as it was devastating for South Africans to see themselves back to level 3 of lockdown while hoping that they will soon be out of lockdown.
Looking at the date the government has set for the re-opening of Zimbabwean primary school and high schools, the date are set for 4th of January 2021. This is because many student and learners lost much time in 2021 in the country amid Covid-19.
The secretary for the ministry of primary and high schools, Tumisang Thabela says the surge of infections and the threat from tropical storm Chalane is expected to Zimbabwe to Mozambique. This forces them to postpone the re-opening of schools.
Though is still soon, the government will announce the re-opening of schools as they are monitoring the situation around this. The sad news here are that Zimbabwe is back to full lockdown phase amid Covid-19.
