The Moti family has been too secretive about the release of their four sons who had been kidnapped for three weeks. The four brothers, who had been kidnapped at gunpoint on their way from school were found in Vuwani last week. Details have been sketchy.
The boys were found after drugs worth more than R200 million have been stolen from the Hawks’ offices in Port Shepstone in KwaZulu-Natal. The perpetrators made off with 541kg of cocaine. Mzansi has been suspicious of the developments.
It turns out R50 million ransom was allegedly paid in bundles of cash to secure the release of the four Moti brothers. The ransom is the reason the hree-week kidnapping and hostage ordeal was brought to an end. This was revealed by News24. According to the publication, three trusted sources, which include two law enforcement officials with intimate knowledge of the investigation, have confirmed that the ransom assured the safe homecoming of the boys. After the payoff was made, brothers Zia(15), Zayyad(11), Alaan(13), and Zidan(7), were dumped by the roadside in the village of Masia Tshikwarani in Vuwani, Limpopo, last week.
Although the Moti family, through spokesperson Keshia Patchiappen, refuted the claims that a ransom was paid, law enforcement sources confirmed the report to News24. It is not clear why the Moti family is denying having paid a ransom. Are they afraid eyebrows will be raised as to how they managed to come up with R50 million in three weeks? Some people are already questioning the worth of those drugs that were stolen in KwaZulu-Natal.
