Lamontville Golden Arrows have announced five new signings early on Sunday morning.
Arrows have been relatively quiet in the transfer window so far, but have now added five new faces to their squad ahead of their game against Richards Bay in the KZN Premiers Cup on Sunday.
Abafana Bes’Thende, who were the best of the five teams in KwaZulu-Natal teams in the top flight last season, have confirmed the signing of Olwethu Ncube, who could be a replacement for Pule Mmodi, as previously reported by iDiski Times.
But Ncube is not the only new face in the Arrows squad, as former Maritzburg centre-back Bradly Cross also joined the team.
The former Newcastle United defender returned to South Africa ahead of the 2022/23 campaign after four years in Europe last month and had initially been assessed by SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs before joining the Team of Choice.
The former Black Aces and Bidvest Wits youth player moved to Germany in 2018 where he played for FC Schalke 04’s youth team before joining Newcastle United in England where he played in and captained the U23 team.
Apart from Cross and Ncube, Arrows also signed Angelo van Rooi, another attacking midfielder from Hungry Lions.
Winger Tebogo Motloung arrived from TTM, while striker Lungelo Nguse joined from AmaTuks.
