Over the weekend, one of the Vaal CERT-SA volunteers joined the CERT-SA Centurion crew to work shifts together.
It was a busy weekend with about 14 calls between Friday evening and Sunday morning.
CERT-SA assisted with various incidents such as a heart attack victim, a kidnapping involving three people, motor vehicle collisions, and pedestrian-vehicle collisons and provided medical assistance for a snake catch and release training session.
“I am very proud of our teams that worked around the clock. There was a strong focus on scene safety – a CERT strong suit and a key role we maintained on every call.
Our volunteers made sure that the public stayed safe and that all the necessary role players could perform their duties, undisturbed and safe.” – Ruan Heyns, CERT CEO.
