Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect(s) who allegedly raped and killed a two-year-old child whose tiny body was discovered in the bushes near Nwamitwa village outside Tzaneen in Limpopo on Thursday, October 13, 2022, around 13:00.
The child was last seen on Wednesday, October 12th, while she and her mother were visiting the mother’s alleged boyfriend.

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the woman went to her neighbor’s house around 12:00 to borrow a wheelbarrow and then went to fetch water from a nearby river, leaving the child alone in the house.
When she returned, she became concerned when she couldn’t find her two-year-old and immediately dialled 911.
A joint search operation involving members of the Search and Rescue Unit, the K9 Unit, Emergency Services personnel, and local police, assisted by community members, was immediately launched, according to SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.
“Sadly, the little girl was found the following day in the bushes, raped and murdered,” Mojapelo said.
Limpopo Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe expressed shock and disgust at the senseless incident and urged members of the community to provide information to the police so that justice could be served.
Police have opened rape and murder investigations and have asked anyone with information that can help apprehend the suspects to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Isaac Raseala, on 076 618 0899 or the crime stop number 0860010111, or the nearest police station or MySAPSApp.
