Mamelodi Sundowns winger Gaston Sirino is reportedly training alone at Chloorkop.
The 32-year-old has handed in a transfer request however Downs coach Mokwena said that the club was yet to receive offers from any clubs.
According to KickOff, the Uruguayan winger was being banished to train alone at Sundowns. Sirino was linked with a move to United Arab Emirates club Al Wahda, which is coached by Pitso Mosimane.
Sirino’s five-year spell at Sundowns coming to an end?
Mosimane was the one who brought the winger to South Africa five years back but since his departure in 2020, Sirino has never been the same player.
Last month, Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena revealed that the club was yet to receive offers for the winger however this week reports emerged that Orlando Pirates were interested.
“That’s what he’s told the club (that he wants to go). He said I must wait for an offer… there’s an offer that’s coming. This was three weeks ago and we are waiting, because he’s asked us to wait for an offer,” Mokwena told Power FM last month.
Sirino has been phenomenal in his five years at Sundowns where he scored 36 goals and provided 42 assists in the 178 games he played.
“The thing is that the player wants to go where he can play and at this moment in time, Pirates have shown interest,” Soccer Laduma said.
For now, Sirino remains at Sundowns but things could change in the next 48 hours when the transfer window closes.
