A late goal by Peter Shalulile saw Mamelodi Sundowns beat Chippa United 1-0 to move back to the top of the log at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Aubrey Modiba had the first real chance of the game via a free-kick near the box, but Lloyd Junior Kazapua did well to push is over the bar in the 5th minute.
Mokoena than found himself one-on-one with Kazapua following a powerful run from midfield but the Chippa goalkeeper once again saved after 14 minutes.
Marcelo Allende had a chance before the break but his header following some miscommunication in the Chippa defence only landed on the roof of the net.

Downs kept on dominating possession but struggled to create many clear-cut chances, while Chippa looked happy to sit back and collect a point.
Chippa had a late chance for a counter in the 80th minute but Mokhele Maloisane rushed his finish as Downs found themselves short on numbers at the back.
Kazapua once again produced a brilliant save for a late Modiba free-kick and pushed the attempt onto the crossbar. The Chippa goalkeeper again came out stronger when Themba Zwane had a late attempt from close range.
Shalulile eventually found the winner in the 90th minute after pouncing on a corner in the 5-yard box in the 90th minute.
There was late drama when Modiba received a second yellow card for time-wasting, with Downs ending the match with 10 men.
The result sees Downs climb to 13 points on the log, overtaking Richards Bay and Royal AM based on the better goal difference, Chippa remain rooted to the the bottom spot with just five points from seven matches.
