While transfer speculations mount around Bafana Bafana and Polokwane City star Oswin Appollis, Rise and Shine’s top scorer this season remains focused on the job at hand.
The former Ajax Cape Town and SuperSport United youngster has had breakout season in the top flight after joining the Motsepe Foundation Championship winners at the start of 2023/24.
Last campaign, he had a standout season in the second tier playing for Pretoria Callies, and he has been the key player for Polokwane since signing.
His performances earned him a call-up to Hugo Broos’ Bafana squad last year, and he made his debut just before the Africa Cup of Nations. While he only featured once in Ivory Coast, Appollis is regarded as one for the future, and the 22-year-old has already been linked with a big move.
Recent media speculation has linked the Capetonian to Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, while AmaZulu have also reportedly shown interest.
In this week’s edition of iDiski Times, Rob Delport sat down with Appollis to talk about his AFCON experience, and when asked about all the transfer rumours, Appollis reiterated that he is only focussed on helping Polokwane have a good first season back in the DStv Premiership.
“Ja no comment on any of that,” Appollis replied to iDiski Times.
“My job now is just to play for Polokwane City, and do great, and continue helping the team, wherever the team’s gonna be in the next few years.”
