Matthews, formerly of Borussia Dortmund left Varbergs for domestic rivals Sirius and netted in their 2-0 win over Norrköping – which proved a reward after several impressive displays of late.
The 22-year-old winger has scored eight goals and registered nine assists in 65 games in the Swedish top-flight since his move from the Bundesliga giants back in January 2020.
Kobamelo Kodisang also continued his impressive run of form when he netted for Moreirense in their 3-0 win over Vilafranquense in the Portuguese League Cup, making seven goal contributions (five goals, two assists) in 11 games across all competitions.
The 23-year-old who’s on loan from top-flight side SC Braga has been knocking on the doors for the national team and with his recent form, it’s likely to see him earn a call-up in the next FIFA international break.
In Denmark, Liam Jordan scored his sixth of the season in his 13 league game for FC Helsingör as they moved into sixth in the NordicBet Liga after the 1-0 win over SönderjyskE.
His side trail league leaders Vajle by seven points now, as they approach the halfway mark of the Danish second-tier, while he trails Mileta Rajovic, by three goals for the Golden Boot race.
Fellow South Africa internationals Lorenzo Gordinho (HB Køge) and Lebogang Phiri (Paris FC) were also in action and had 90 minute run outs in their respective teams.
