The Economic Freedom Fighters have accused AfriForum of trying to use delay tactics by requesting that acting Super Court of Judge Raylene Keightley recuse herself.
EFF BELIEVES APPLICATION IS POLITICALLY MOTIVATED
According to the EFF, the civil rights organisation is delaying the inevitable defeat on the ‘Kill the Boer‘ case.
AfriForum has since raised that Judge Keightley may be biased against their organisation, due to a statement she made in court regarding AfriForum lack of adaptability.
The ‘Kill the Boer case is currently at the Supreme Court in Bloemfontein after AfriForum appealed a ruling by the Equality Court that deemed the singing of the struggle song- not hate speech.
“The racists lost the matter dismally, as they failed to illustrate a causal link between the singing of the song and murders on farms”, said the EFF in statement.
JUDGE KEIGHTLEY RULES AGAINST AFFIFORUM
The Red Berets have questioned the timing of recusal request says AfriForum is only lodging a complaint now against the judge after she ruled against them recently in a separate matter.
“These statements were were never contested until now, after they received an unfavourable outcome in a separate case she presided over concerning the medium of instruction at the University of South Africa (Unisa).
The EFF has vowed to oppose the application
“We will oppose this application and continue to fight against right-wing, imperialistic elements that oppose our agenda for social justice and equity.”
