Kaizer Chiefs have announced their Covid-19 positive cases have moved from 36 to 48 within the space of two weeks.
In a statement released on Saturday, Chiefs revealed that 12 more people tested positive in the latest run of tests conducted this week.
However, that will NOT stop them from honouring their remaining fixtures of the year as they have done enough to manage the situation.
Chiefs have already failed to honour their last two matched against Cape Town City and Golden Arrows due to Covid-19 outbreak at the Village.
Nonetheless, they are expected to face Sekhukhune United on Sunday, with the club confirming their availability for this encounter.
“Ahead of the game against Golden Arrows, further testing resulted in another five cases reported by the doctors – bringing the number to 36,” reads part of the statement.
“Earlier this week as the Club prepared to return to work, a further 12 cases were identified within the administration staff.
“The total number of cases over this period sits at 48. This is inclusive of reserve team players the Club intended to register for the senior team,” added the statement.
