Golden Arrows have extended the contract of their captain Thabani Zuke by a further two years, iDiski Times has learnt.
Zuke’s deal with Abafana Bes’Thende was expiring at the end of the season in June next year. However, Arrows, in fear of losing him for free, have quickly tied him to a long-term deal until June 2025.

This is a reward for Zuke, who was given the club’s captaincy after the departure of Nkosinathi Sibisi and Matome Mathiane to Orlando Pirates and Chippa United, respectively.
Last season, Zuke was also rewarded with call up by Bafana coach Hugo Broos during the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, making his debut in the 3-1 win over Ethiopia away, replacing Teboho Mokoena in the 90th minute.
He added a second cap to his collection, his only two so far, against Ethiopia in the return leg in South Africa. He again replaced Mokoena in the second half. He was further called up in two matches against Zimbabwe and Botswana, but did not play.

The 23-year-old, who was promoted at the beginning of the 2019/20 season and featured in all 10 league matches for Arrows this season, with the Durban-based side lying eighth on the log table with 13 points.
Madlebe, as Zuke is known, saved his club against Stellenbosch on Friday as they were on the verge of losing the match, but he ended all that as he turned and blasted the shot for the equaliser.
Interestingly, that was his first ever goal for the club, having featured in 69 matches in all competitions after making his PSL debut against Maritzburg United on 3 January 2020 under coach Steve Komphela, when he replaced Brandon Parusnath in the second half.
It was a great cameo entrance for Zuke, who started his career as a central midfielder, as Arrows won 2-1 at Harry Gwala Stadium on that day.
