Bafana Bafana coach Morena Ramoreboli, who is in charge of the COSAFA Cup squad in Durban, has backed newly appointed Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki to succeed at Naturena.
Ntseki was elevated to the new head coach at Naturena last week and that has been met with mixed feelings from fans, who were expecting Chiefs to conclude terms with former Young African coach Nasreddine Nabi.
Chiefs stunned many with the appointment of Ntseki, who was previously occupying the Head of Youth Development role at the club.
Ramoreboli, who was assistant coach of Ntseki when African Warriors was promoted to the Motsepe Foundation Champions in 2007, says given the chance Ntseki will make a difference at Naturena.
“We are living the life as people don’t know things we do,” stated Ramoreboli.
“Coach Ntseki is one of those knowledgeable coaches, whom I believe given the chance we can see a Kaizer Chiefs that is different to the one we saw last year, not to say the previous coach was not doing enough.
“But I believe that, given the chance, he can try and make Chiefs look more competitive. I just pray that he gets the opportunity to express and do what he needs to do so that Kaizer Chiefs can go back to where they belong.”
Ntseki failed to qualify Bafana Bafana for the 2021’s Africa Cup of Nations but has a rich history with the country’s youth side, leading SA’s under 17 to the World Cup in Chile.
“How do you judge Molefi Ntseki, if you can’t take control of Kaizer Chiefs?” asked Ramorebodi, who is in charge of Jwaneng Galaxy in Botswana.
“Are you judging him because he didn’t win anything with Bafana Bafana? But the same thing happened with Pitso Mosimane and he came back and proved himself that he is the best coach and the same thing needs to be done to coach Molefi, he deserves a chance.
“One thing I know is, by allowing him to work with Kaizer Chiefs’ players and have a good relationship with them, Kaizer Chiefs will perform and Chiefs will do well.
“I’m not saying this because Ntseki is my friend, but I’m saying this because I know him personally that he is a hard working coach and he doesn’t take things for granted. He will always research and analyse.
