Cape Town City head coach Eric Tinkler has warned his side of the difficulties of facing TS Galaxy.
City have collected seven points out a possible 12 since the restart of the DStv Premiership campaign and are slowly moving up the table after their slow beginning to 2022/23.
But they will now face a stubborn Galaxy side that has conceded just one goal in their last four games and are unbeaten in their last seven – although picking up six draws and just one win.
“It’s not going to be an easy match,” Tinkler told Cape Town City media.
“They’ve so far this season shown to be a very difficult team to break down, the defensive record is actually very good. Haven’t conceded many goals.
“So obviously, we’re going to have to be at our utmost best.”
Tinkler insisted his side need to make their chances count in Friday’s clash at the DHL Stadium against a Rockets side that has only conceded eight goals. – the joint-least – this season so far.
“We got to make sure that what we do in the final third is productive, we got to make sure that we get the crosses into the box and we create opportunities to score and obviously, that the ball in the back of the net to collect the three points,” he added.
“How we play is also key. We have to play with good intensity with a lot of belief in what we are doing.
“Our preparation leading up to the game has been very, very good. Now it’s about transferring all that preparation into the match. So that’s that’s going to be the the key objective.”
