Cristiano Ronaldo is set to captain the Riyadh ST XI in friendly match against Lionel Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday.
The 37-year-old is finally set to play his first game since joining Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia after he had been suspended due to a suspension from his time at Manchester United.
However, he will take to the field for the first time when a team made up of players from Saudi’s top sides Al Nasser and Al Hilal will take on PSG.
According to ESPN, Ronaldo will play 45 minutes in coordination with Al Nassr coach Rudi Garcia, while L’Equipe report that Ronaldo will captain the Riyadh ST XI.
Ronaldo missed his new side’s first two league games after being suspended by England’s Football Association for knocking a phone out of a fan’s hand in April 2022.
As a consequence, he was sitting in the stands for a 2-0 win over Al Tai and a goalless draw with Al-Shabab.
He is expected to finally make his Al Nassr debut when the log leaders will face 10th-placed Al-Ettifaq on Sunday.
However, he will take the pitch for the first time on Thursday when the Riyadh ST XI will take on Paris Saint-Germain in a highly expected friendly match, which could be one of the final games to see Ronaldo and his longstanding rival Messi together on the pitch.
