Jose Riveiro REFUSED to give an update on Orlando Pirates talisman Thembinkosi Lorch who has been injured for the last five months.
The last time Thembinkosi Lorch featured for Orlando Pirates was all the way back in August 2022.
The Buccaneers talisman has struggled with injuries during recent years.
Lorch has played just five matches so far this season. Worryingly for Lorch fans, there seems to be no end to his troubles.
Head coach Jose Riveiro refused to give an update on the Orlando Pirates star’s condition after five months on the sidelines injured.
ORLANDO PIRATES COACH REFUSES TO GIVE LORCH UPDATE
“I don’t speak about injured players or individual players. From the beginning of the season, it is not my role to talk about players who are not available.” – the Orlando Pirates coach said regarding Lorch as per Citizen.
“How can we measure that? Is there any tool to measure how much it affects us if someone is not playing for the team? I cannot answer that question.
“I am so happy with the players who are happy to play. We have more than enough and I will think about the ones who did not play in preparation for the next game because we have to face Cape Town City very soon.
Shonga joined the Buccaneers in 2017 from Nkwazi FC and showed great promise however he ultimately fizzled away in Mayfair.
He made 77 appearances for the Buccaneers, scoring 16 goals while assisting a further 16 more.
FORMER BUCS STAR PATIENTLY WAITING FOR PSL RETURN
“Obviously it’s every players dream to play in the Premier Soccer League.” Shonga told FARPost.
“I played in South Africa, so I know how big it is to be part of that league. Every player on the African continent always wishes to play in the PSL. So it’s no different with me.
“If there could be offers then I will be happy to return to South Africa because it’s the highest level. We’ll just wait until there’s an opportunity to go back.”
