It has been revealed that the two white men accused of attacking teenage black boys at the Maselspoort Resort outside Bloemfontein in the Free State are still staying there, days after an alleged racist incident.
Following the incident, there has been widespread outrage, including from the government and political parties, who have demanded that the resort take firm action against the alleged perpetrators.

The Maselspoort Resort has defended itself after some claimed that its swimming pool was only open to white people. According to Nick Mitchell, the resort is a racially free zone that does not tolerate segregation or racism.
“At this moment the police are handling the situation. As mentioned, there is the police case opened against the parties involved,” Mitchell said.
According to the father of one of the black boys, the teens were told they weren’t residents at the resort and couldn’t swim there, but he insists they were also residents with the right to use the facilities.
“We went there with my sister to check on the kids and indeed when we arrived there, we engaged those white folks and they said ‘no, there was a miscommunication with the kids’.

“They didn’t understand, they thought that they were not residents at Maselspoort because the swimming pool can only be accessed by residents and the kids told them we are residents here.
“I also told them we are residents here and we have paid just as they have paid,” the father said.
Meanwhile, Free State Premier Sisi Khompela has condemned the incident, which is being investigated in the province by the South African Police Service (SAPS).
