While many were saddened about Nomvelo Makhanya’s exit from Scandal!, she’s thanking her lucky stars that it finally happened. And now she’s speaking out on what she had to endure during her stay on the popular eTV series.
Nomvelo, who played the role of Lindiwe on the series, exited the show on November 10 after she was allegedly fired.
As viewers will recall, her character died just days after she gave birth. The star had been with the show for 10 years and many adored her as she actually grew up on TV.
Viewers saw her from being a teenager to being a responsible married woman. While we thought everything was okay between herself and the producers of the show, the actress has come forward to prove otherwise.
There’s a video circulating on social media and in the video Nomvelo is slamming the work environment, saying she attempted to take her own life several times as a result.
“I’ve been the one that’s been catching all the f*cken smoke … It wasn’t me guys, it wasn’t my choice. They wrote me off, that’s the truth … It was God’s plan though, I’m going to tell you that for real.
“I’ve been praying … I’ve been wanting to leave that place … For me it was something I had really been praying about so when it finally happened it really felt like God was removing me from the toxic environment.
“I probably would have killed myself. There was a 90% chance. That’s how toxic that place was,” she said.

The video had Mzansi talking with some feeling sorry for her, while others thought her actions were uncalled especially considering that she was seen rolling weed while addressing her fans.
