Former South African President Jacob Zuma given 5 days to hand over himself to the police to start his 15 months jail sentence. This follwes after he defied to appear before the State Capture Commission held by Justice Raymond Zondo.
Justice Raymond Zondo wanted the former president Jacob Zuma to be sentenced 2 year in jail for defying his summons to testify before the Zondo Commission. Acting Chief Justice Sisi Khampepe sees that Jacob Zuma’s contempt is rebukable is the strongest sense. Not only Jacob Zuma failed to dispute the comtempt of court, he also failed to contest the degree of the contempt. Instead he aggravated it, the majority judgment orders an unsuspened sentence of imprisonment for the period of 15 months.
Jacob Zuma has been steadfast on his conviction that the judiciary is baised against him following an earlier ruling by the Constitutional Court that he should appear before the State Capture Commission.

Jacob Zuma applied for a stay of execution 9f the order for his arrest on Sunday following his conviction and sentence of 25 months in jail in contempt of Court in the Constitutional Court on Tuesday. Jacob Zuma urgues that he will be the first person to go to jail by the Constitutional Court since the dawn of democracy in South Africa.
He says that he was not appearing before the State Capture Commission because of his medical condition. This followed after he again mentioned that he was advised to schedule his appearance in the State Capture Commission after speaking to the leader of his medical team.
