Kaizer Chiefs will live to rue the chances they missed as they played a goalless draw against visiting AmaZulu at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Chiefs’ biggest chance to take the lead was a penalty in the early stages of the first half, which Dillan Solomons sent wide.
Going into the DStv Premiership match, Chiefs had scored four goals in their two wins this season against Maritzburg United [3-0] and the penalty they converted to beat Richards Bay.
Their scoring woes showed in front of their fans at FNB. It made all sense when fans screamed as new signing Caleb Bimenyimana trotted onto the field in the 69th minute, replacing Ashley Du Preez.
The result means they have won twice, lost thrice and drawn once in Arthur Zwane’s first six games as coach.
In Limpopo, Royal AM beat Sekhukhune 2-1 to go top of the league.
A Mfundo Thikazi brace handed the visitors maximum points, moving them to 13 points, two points ahead of Usuthu.
Sekhukhune scored their goal through Sello Motsepe with two minutes time of play remaining.
On the other hand, Babina Noko have dropped to second from bottom with five points from six matches. They are just a point above bottom placed Marumo Gallants who could move away from the relegation zone if they beat Swallows on Sunday.
The match got heated towards the end as Sekhukhune midfielder Pogiso Mahlangu was shown a red card for a dangerous tackle.
