The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Directorate has strategically planned maintenance set for Tuesday, 9 January 2024, from 9:00 to 18:00.
Impacting the Claremont/Newlands area and various locations including Main Road, Albion Road, Klipper Road, Dean Street, Bank Road, Arbor Road, Mount Road, and nearby areas.
“This critical work is done on our water supply infrastructure to benefit customers. Residents in the affected areas are encouraged to take note of the work that will take place,” said the City of Cape Town.
Upgrade water supply for better efficiency
The maintenance team aims to replace defective isolation valves strategically. Contributing to the long-term reliability and efficiency of the water supply system.
While this crucial work is performed for the benefit of customers. Residents in the affected areas may experience low water pressure or complete water disruption during the exercise.
Careful planning is in place to minimise the impact on water supply. Recognising the inconvenience residents may face.
After the restoration, residents might observe brief discoloration or milkiness in the water due to trapped air, but this is expected to clear with time.
The City emphasises its appreciation for residents’ understanding, acknowledging the importance of this maintenance for the overall efficiency of the water supply system.
Apologies for inconvenience
The City of Cape Town apologises for any inconvenience caused. It also informs the public that construction sites, including repair and upgrade locations, are off-limits during this period.
Unforeseen complexities may extend the maintenance duration. However, the City is committed to completing the work efficiently, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the water supply system.
