South African “funeral artist” Lebani “Rasta” Sirenje has done it again, folks. And by “it,” I mean painting a portrait of a late public figure with a notable lack of resemblance.
If there are a few things you can count on in South Africa, it’s death, taxes, and Rasta attempting to capture the essence of a departed star and failing spectacularly.

As mourners gathered for Zahara’s funeral, Rasta was there, ready to immortalize her in his own unique way.
With brushes in hand and a determined look on his face, he set out to pay tribute to the late singer with a series of heartfelt portraits. Unfortunately, the end result left much to be desired.
Rasta’s latest masterpiece (or should I say “misery piece”) was so far off the mark that some social media users questioned whether it was even Zahara at all.
The resemblance was about as clear as a blurry selfie taken in a dimly lit room. It’s safe to say that Rasta’s artistic interpretation missed the mark by a wide margin.
But hey, let’s give credit where credit is due. Rasta has managed to carve out a niche for himself in the art world with his unique style.
While other artists strive for accuracy and capture the essence of their subjects, Rasta boldly goes in the opposite direction. It’s almost impressive how consistently he manages to get it wrong.

So, as we bid farewell to Zahara and remember her for her incredible talent and contributions to the music industry, let’s also take a moment to appreciate Rasta’s unwavering commitment to his craft.
After all, in a world full of talented artists, it takes a special kind of talent to consistently miss the mark.
Rest in peace, Zahara. And Rasta, keep doing what you do best—confusing and amusing us with your questionable portrayals of our beloved public figures.
