Mashaba emphasizes the significance of mobilizing the over 14 million unregistered voters in the country to register and cast their ballots in the 2024 elections, deeming it crucial for bringing about political transformation.
Utilizing the slogan “No Vote, No Voice, No Change,” Mashaba highlights that only around 10 million people voted for the ruling party in the 2019 elections. Thus, the 14 million potential new voters could play a substantial role in challenging the ruling party and redirecting the country toward prosperity.
ActionSA has launched a statewide campaign to register new voters, commencing in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni. In preparation for the 2024 elections, the party has spent the past two years expanding its reach across all nine provinces, with volunteers identifying 150,000 South Africans who are yet to register. Impressively, over 20% of ActionSA’s 250,000 members are prospective first-time voters in 2024, indicating the party’s ability to attract support from individuals who were previously unable to vote.
The primary objective of ActionSA leading up to and during the voter registration weekend on November 18 and 19 is to facilitate the participation of every eligible South African in casting their ballots and addressing the prevalent issues facing the nation. The party’s efforts center around empowering citizens to have a say and actively contribute to shaping the country’s future.
