Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena says he will leave the club to communicate the futures of Gaston Sirino and Erwin Saavedra.
Sirino, who has been the subject of interest from UAE Pro League side Al Wahda was pictured this week at Chloorkop training by himself.
It’s been no secret that they player has been seeking a move away from the club, having previously been linked with a move to Al Ahly when Pitso Mosimane was in charge.
However, Mosimane stated they would not pursue the player due to ‘not having a price tag’ and while his future appears in limbo, Saavedra has endured an injury-ravaged time since his arrival from Club Bolivar, the same club Sirino was signed from.
“I would like to leave both to the club, it’s a week where I only want to focus on football and what happens with the preparation and tactics and getting that right,” Mokwena said about Sirino and Saavedra’s futures.
“I would be lying if I said I had the latest with regards to both Gaston and Saavedra, what I know is Saavedra is in Bolivia.
“I had a Facetime call with him, had nothing to do with Sundowns, just a personal, human, brother-to-brother talk to catch up. But to give you anything, I would not like to get into that space and leave it to the football club.”
Sundowns face Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday afternoon for their second leg MTN8 semi-final at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.
