Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. has explained why the club opted to part ways with Kamohelo Mahlatsi after just one season.
Mahlatsi joined Chiefs at the beginning of last season from Soweto rivals Moroka Swallows but the 25-year old made only seven appearances in the colours of Amakhosi.
Motaung Jr explained that they sat down with Mahlatsi’s representatives and opted for what’s best for his career.
“Kamohelo has given his best at all times while a Chiefs player and, following consultation with his representatives, we decided to release him with a view to him finding more regular game-time somewhere else,” Motaung Jr explained.
“We appreciate his efforts and wish him all of the best for the future.”
The former SuperSport United player is now a free agent he can join a team of his choice.
His move won’t be affected by the closure of the transfer window on Friday, as he will be able to move even after it is closed.
