Five individuals allegedly involved in the series of truck torchings have their court hearing scheduled for Monday, according to the national police spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe.
The incidents of truck torchings have resulted in the destruction of approximately 20 trucks across four provinces, namely KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and Gauteng.
In response to these attacks, law enforcement authorities have been actively pursuing the perpetrators, leading to the arrest of a third suspect on Thursday night.
As of now, a total of five suspects have been taken into custody, all of whom were apprehended in Mpumalanga.
Mathe further stated that two additional suspects have been arrested in connection with the truck burnings, and the search for more individuals involved in these crimes is ongoing.
The suspects are expected to make their court appearance on Monday.
